~ I love this insightful comment & had to re-post it. I sure hope Nancy Ufkes doesnt mind. ~ I was very active in the campaign to get Conan OBrien on another network after he was fired from The Tonight Show. It was a good three months before we heard anything tangible, but one thing I remember vividly about that time was that Conan couldnt be on ANY NETWORK AT ALL for several months. He couldnt even do talk shows/news shows, etc. The first television appearance he made was an interview on 60 Minutes and that was over 4 months after he left the show. It was a part of his contract with NBC at the time. SO the show may have contractual issues that would make an announcement come late. TNT may want to rerun the series (A&E is still rerunning Dog the Bounty Hunter 4 years after cancelling them) or what have you, but contractual stuff can affect an announcement/production etc. Secondly, even after Conan was picked up by TBS, it was 6 months before his show aired. Production doesnt happen overnight. During that 6 months, the Conan fans (including me) were on social media every day. We had weekly events (Hot Coco Picture nights were fun!), and blog walls. I became good friends with several of the writers of the show during this time, they were very active on social media. Yes, we had a few bad apples on that page: I told another Dallas fan about one woman who was so harassed by another poster that she asked to call me one morning (early, shes on the east coast, Im west) which she did and she was crying. But for the most part, we were all well behaved and diligent and supportive of each other. Last summer, I even went to a WEDDING of one of the people I met during that time. We have an opportunity to do the same thing here. We CAN be united in our quest to #SaveDallas. And we will. When this is all over, and it wont happen tomorrow or next week, but it will happen, we will look back with pride on how we persevered with dignity in honor of a show that has meant to much to all of us.
