I made bail this morning (shout-out to Hazels 24-hour bail bonds & Hair Salon in St. Pete) and heres my update on last nights concert: I took my son and his girlfriend -- we saw the Metalcore bands Escape the Fate and headliners Falling in Reverse. Both great really bands! (short cell-phone video clip below) So much so, I got some ink and a piercing right there during the concert. Awesome show until things got crazy in the mosh pit, but my attorney says its just a misdemeanor and he can probably get it dismissed because of no priors and Ill walk clean. 6-months probation, tops. Thanks Lou! Oh, and get this: I made all those bad parts up (gotcha!). Of course I didnt get a tat or pierced or arrested, but I was tweeting that stuff live all show long last night. In reality, they put on a surprisingly great show with a clean-cut well-behaved crowed, in a beautiful venue, and it wasnt even too loud (I brought earplugs, and never used them). I had envisioned a bunch of angry metal guys, and a giant mosh pit, with lots of fights and blaring loud music, but actually, it was just a bunch of regular-looking high-school and college kids wearing their FSU and Florida Gators sweatshirts, bobbing up and down with their hands in the air making the rock! sign or waving side to side. It was an outdoor concert at Janus Landing which is an awesome venue for a show. It was in the courtyard of a U-shaped building with a big Oak Tree, and there were shops and restaurants surrounding the courtyard. The bands sounded great, very tight, well-rehearsed and very professional. You did hear some F-bombs, but no more than you would in a Jay Maisel class, and much less than in the Wolf of Wallstreet (Ive heard). There was a sit-down Irish pub serving dinner. Overall much nicer, cleaner, better experience than I was expecting. Even got home earlier than I thought. Plus, now Im a Falling in Reverse fan. Whodathunkit!!! :)
