I may be tossing rocks at the wind here but I wonder if all the bad press by the WADA group and the British and US press hasnt piqued the interest thus causing this enormous rise in tourist arrivals in Jamaica? The Caribbean Track and Field site (disc.yourwebapps/Indices/113916.html) has fought back tooth-and-nails against the bad press generated about Jamaican athletes offering opinions opposite that launched and perpetrated by WADA past president Richard Pound and current president John Fahey. Im thinking that anyone with even a peripheral interest will want to see what there is that caused and is causing this? The Jamaican currency is at an all time low which gives a big boost to foreign currencies being spent on the island. Accommodations and travel cost less per dollar so why not go see what the fuss is all about. My opinion does not mean that this is the primary reason for the boost in tourism. Id attribute the early arrival of a severe winter for the flooding of the warmer climes with snowbirds. The recent press headlines bearing bad news regarding Jamaican athletics may just be one more reason to to add Jamaica as a destination and in the process be a sleuth and perhaps get a photo op with the most photographed athletes on the planet, Usain Bolt or Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. This has its potential good and bad. I like the good side.
