For so many of us, we are at a place in life that may make us question just what the hell is going on. Of course, NONE of us could have possibly imagined going through what we have, and some of the traumas and experiences weve survived. But yet- we have, and you know what? Its OK. We have to work towards accepting it. Its OK?! Has he lost his mind?! Its NOT OK! I know its tough to imagine, but it really IS OK. Accepting it doesnt mean you LIKE it, it doesnt mean that your experiences and trauma are no big deal & it doesnt mean you asked for it. It simply means this- they happened, and we cant change that. So are we going to just give our control over to a person, a situation, an event that we couldnt control THEN, and certainly cant change or control NOW? Because if we do, were setting ourselves up for failure. Its in the rearview mirror, and you cant live back there. Where you live is RIGHT NOW. Where youre headed is in the windshield, coming straight at you- you can see it approaching, you know its going to happen. So my question is this- what are you going to do? Are you going to take control and move the steering wheel, tap the brake or gas pedal and be in charge of what direction you go for the rest of your life? Because the alternative is to keep staring at the rearview mirror and continue to get caught off guard and unprepared for life as it happens day-to-day. I want to go where I NEED to be.
