I may soon stop using LinkedIn, as it appears theyre putting my profile in limbo. This is because the following is on my profile: NOTE: As many know, when dealing with contracts, if there are terms you do not approve of, you cross them out, add parts, etc. This addition is in response to the LinkedIn TOS: ...you grant LinkedIn...fully paid up and royalty-free right to us to copy...use and commercialize, in any way now known or in the future discovered, any information you provide, directly or indirectly to LinkedIn... LINKEDIN AND ANY OTHERS, IRREGARDLESS TO THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO LINKEDIN, OR ANY OTHER ENTITY NOT PREVIOUSLY APPROVED BY MYSELF OR LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE, IN WRITING, WITH APPROPRIATE SIGNATURES, DO NOT HAVE ANY RIGHTS, OF ANY KIND, TO ANY MATERIAL, THAT COMES FROM THIS ACCOUNT, OR ANY ASSOCIATION WITH THIS ACCOUNT. DOING SO MAY BE A DIRECT VIOLATION OF COPYRIGHTS, TRADEMARKS, OR OTHER LAWS. IF VIOLATIONS IS SUSPECTED, THE IMMEDIATE CEASE AND DESIST REQUEST WILL BE SENT TO THE PARTY OR PARTIES. FAILURE TO HONOR THE REQUEST WILL RESULT IN PROSECUTION TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. THE CONTINUAL ALLOWANCE FOR THIS PROFILE TO REMAIN RESULTS IN THE ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS. Many have posted on FB that they do not approve of using their info for commercial purposes, just as Google has started to do. I think people need to take these companies to court in class action suits, for violations of privacy, and making profits off of others works without due compensation.
