I met Vinnie Appice briefly at the old Drum World on Geneva Ave in San Francisco - 1988. I showed up late for his in-store-appearance because I was intimidated. He was SO NICE TO ME. He offered to show me some stuff, but the shop was closing up, so I had him autograph his drum method book. In my opinion, Vinnie is part of seminal hard rock drumming. His brother, Carmine Appice, along with John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, Ian Paice, Ginger Baker, Bill Ward, and others I know Ive missed ... continue to inspire me. Anyway ...
