I need a couple people willing to be interviewed for an anthropology project on fandom. Because this class has a focus on the ethics of field work and research through interviews there is a bit of paper work involved to prove I understand the ethics, and unfortunately I need to have the forms in by Thursday night. I thought the consent forms were due a bit later than the ethics forms but apparently not. Im specifically looking for people who have gone to events such as conventions, whether anime, sci-fi, fantasy or other. Anyone want to help me out? I just need a few minutes of your time this week to go over the forms and to fill them out if you agree, as it needs to be cleared before I can interview you. In case anyone is worried about what it might entail, Im not planning on asking anything awkward, but you can decide not to answer questions if they make you for whatever reason. You will also be given a pseudonym in my essay and presentation to my class, your real name wont be used beyond the consent form and initial notes that only I, my prof, and the ethics committee have access to. All information (personal information such as age, gender and name/pseudonym, interviews notes/recordings, images I might take with your consent or that you wish to share with me) will be destroyed at the end of this project and will go no further than my prof and the class I present to. I need at the very least 5 people, but it would be great if I could maybe get closer to 10 or maybe 15. Ill love you forever if you volunteer, it would be incredibly awesome of you.
