I need some suggestions on what I can do about this situation please My employer asked my Co worker that Im friends with to have him forward my text messages to him about some work related issues. The employer only knows of the texts because I had to inform my Co worker I would not be in this week due to a work suspention which he had no idea about. So he asked my supervisor about the issue because it pertained to work. Now hes being asked to forward our whole conversation(as well as the personal texts) to our manager for no other reason then so he can review what i said which my Co worker responded he wasnt comfortable doing an held back from doing so. Its not a work issued cell phone or number so id assume they have no rights as to ask to see what I text him. So question is Can i be punished for a personal conversation about work to a coworker on our personal phones? An can my work legally ask to have our personal messages forwarded to them?
