I needed a break. A kayak trip out to a nearby Island. What could possibly go wrong? So boxing day I kayaked out to this little gem on Rangitoto Islan(NZ). Half way out I noticed my ride-on kayak was becoming more like a ride-in kayak. I wasnt sure where the leak was but I was definitely sinking… By the time I reached the Island I was practically underwater. Paddling a submarine is most challenging. Anyways, had an awesome few days in an old-skool waterfront bach that sadly today are increasingly replaced by palaces. I later discovered the leak was in an old rod holder that had been added to the kayak without silicone. Paddle home was drama free.
