I never had the experience of having a grandmother. My moms mother had passed before I was born and my pops mother died when I was really young so there are vague memories with her. However , via both of my marriages I have had the grand experience of having grandmothers. Today, I watched Mrs. Lena Tolbert literally transcend from this physical life with a peaceful smile and a nod to her family letting them know, Im fine..Granny was as sweet as sugar and welcomed me into her family with genuine love. She genuinely loved my two children as if her blood ran thru their veins. Her spirit was so infectious and I miss her already however today changed my perspective on what transcending is. She lived almost 90 years of life and her work is cemented through the goodness of the family she nurtured. I thank her for raising my wife with such a pure and kind heart. I am sad and I grieve with my wife on this stormy day but I also smile because I was blessed to have experienced a granny for seven years. No more pain Granny...I will miss you but I cant be upset.....no more pain....Your boy Jason ! :-)
