I posted this to the Funker Tactical page, since Im getting swamped with messages. Itll likely go unread, but just wanted everyone to know its there, and thatll be my only response to any of whatever is said: Hello, Funker community. Ive been bombarded by texts, emails and FB messages over the last few hours, about comments being made in regards to our videos. I dont generally dont read the comments (Ive never won or lost a violent encounter on the internet, so I generally just avoid), but Ill put this out there for those that the comments bother: FT asked us to shoot some videos to showcase a wide range of attacks and/or threats and a possible approach to them. We generally dont do a lot of this, because without context or the understanding of our holistic and systemic approach to violence, it just becomes a collection of techniques. However, we like a lot of what Funker is doing so decided to do it. All of the videos represent moments in time, minute slices of a much more expansive system. Our general reply to what if... is, it depends, because we understand that the totality of the circumstance will dictate the response. Ultimately, the only variable I totally control is me, what I bring to any given situation, based on the time Ive spent preparing for it. Youre not going to get that in a two to three minute video of a technique that builds on principles taught over months or years and trained against resisting opponents. I hope this makes sense. If you dont like the videos, thats cool with me...to each his own. If you do, I encourage you to work with someone that really understands the dynamics, so you can decide for yourself if you think it will work for you. Finally, for the traditional Krav Maga guys that are apparently saying, thats not Krav Maga, I say, thank you. I appreciate the time and consideration...now, go train!
