I pray for the young man who wrote this comment that he will - TopicsExpress

I pray for the young man who wrote this comment that he will learn empathy in this life. Dealing with #suicide and its heartbreaking aftermath is a torment different than any you will ever experience. To condemn a person who took their own life and smear them for their cowardice is a blot on the character of the person who condemns and an affront to grieving survivors. Following the recent highly publicized death of beloved Robin Williams there has been a flurry of articles and posts with opinions on suicide and why people choose self murder as their remedy for emotional and physical pain. If not out of respect for the dead who cannot defend themselves, my public response to this young man is to walk a mile in the shoes of both the one who let his/her life go, and step into the hearts of those who survive the loss and grapple with the questions, insensitivity and judgement of people like this condemning what they cannot understand. The #icebucketchallenge was great for #ALS. Let compassion replace condemnation for Those Who Left Too Soon. #twlts Share if you lost a loved one to suicide to open the hearts of others and spread awareness. In loving memory of my mother Arlene Harpster, who took her life on June 14, 1998 and my Aunt Ilona and Aunt Sharon who preceded her. We will meet again.
