I read the Outlook Cover story about what the elevator(apparently) saw with a slight sense of uneasiness. But not too much. This might have had to do with the fact that I hold the writer in high esteem. I felt that this piece was in no -way scary or repulsive or disgusting like several of my friends claimed it was. On second reading, I find that the piece is indeed scary. In a world like ours, this kind of a scrutiny and false implication based on body language, memory etc will only add to the trauma of reporting rape. I always thought the article could have done with more thought, but now on second and third reading, I feel this is one article that need not have been written at all.
