I realize Im playing with fire here, but too many people are scared of the subject; but Im a say what I mean and mean what I say kinda guy. It is a fact that violent crime is on the rise in this country, especially in urban areas. It is also a fact that the majority percentage of these crimes is perpetrated by young black men. All this protest of racial profiling is leading to an environment where law enforcement is being handicapped from getting a handle on this crime. All this protest is leading to an environment where the thugs can more boldly commit crime and feel the cops wont dare approach them for fear of discrimination suits. Profiling is a necessary tool of law enforcement, not necessarily racial profiling, but thuggish suspicious behavior in high crime areas should get your ass profiled. Blacks are not arrested and imprisoned at a higher rate because of profiling; they are being arrested and imprisoned at a higher rate because they are committing a higher percentage of crime. Thats just a fact youll have to deal with. Wearing a turbine on your head should get you profiled higher than a granny in a wheelchair when boarding a plane too, but it doesnt for fear of discrimination claims. By making profiling taboo, we are losing the battle against crime. I aint scared in theses politically correct times to say I support profiling and I dont give a shit how you take that. Right here in my neck of the woods near New Orleans, a lady saw a group of young blacks on bicycles around 1AM, in what she later described appeared to her were casing the neighborhood. She said she thought about calling law enforcement and reporting them as suspicious activity, but didnt because she feared being labeled a racist for profiling. One of those young blacks was shot by a homeowner in that same neighborhood about an hour later after he scaled the mans fence and was caught burglarizing the property. The homeowner was cleared of any wrong doing in the shooting as my state of Louisiana has both Castle Law and Stand Your Ground Law allowing this homeowner to defend his property. Had that lady called law enforcement an hour earlier, she most likely would have prevented this shooting.
