I really dont respect dead beat dads. If I ever have a kid, regardless of what happens between me and the mom, that kid will be set for life. Id fight for at least dual custody so I could raise them and teach them. Life is a brutal evolutionary competition between your kid and everyone elses. Its tough enough as it is without you abandoning them financially and also not helping them by passing on your very valuable knowledge to them. I dont see how these dads live with themselves. It would drive me crazy knowing my child was just thrown to the wolves.
