I really really really applaud Dave Chapelle; I really applaud the writer for blaming the audience. I have a lot of different opinions that are useless for the over all context if race in this argument because I was a white female performer. However, I do think the writer is spot on in his assessment on race and the audiences blame for their part in this show. Unfortunately Richard Pryor struggled with the the same thing in his career. White people and some black people failed to see the depth and intelligence in his satire of race and culture. His audience tried to force him into the banal character in which he often delivered the message. Therefore the audience kills the messenger.
