I received the following email in response to my email to the Kiwanis MidEVIL faire It bothers me most that this sandyanne52 states that she wont even read the article about Nosey I attached :( sandyanne52@aol 8:48 PM (43 minutes ago) to me My Dear Ann, I am one of the organizers of the Kiwanis Medieval Faire. In that capacity, I must say I appreciate your concern for our elephant. We had papers, given to us from the state of Florida, stating that the female elephant, who is not old, nor arthritic, is capable of doing exactly what she was bred for-being a beast of burden. She also comes to us complete with all the paperwork necessary to be present at our show. While I understand your concern about elephants - this one seems to be loved and taken care of perhapsbetter than some peoples children. This event is for charity. The man who owns the elephant is not paid by us to come to the show. He is a vendor. He had all the state authorizations and documents for the elephant and was not abusing her in any way. He was respectful and helpful during the show. More so than some people who were present at the show and being disrespectful to this vendor. To answer your final question, no, I did not research whatever website you attached and will not. I have worked with animals for the last sixteen years and never had any incidences of abuse. Any person who willfully abused any animals at our show would have been asked to leave. THank you for your concern.
