I recently watch Gov. Adams Oshimoles Go and die video and was seriously appalled by the level of insincerity, hypocrisy and disdain for the common man exemplified by the governor. How can a governor tell his subjects to go and die? Governors are supposed to be servants not lords. Even if the woman committed murder, is it enough for him to tell her to go and die. Even convicts are treated better since they are not allowed to die when they are sick but rather treated. Are we not to temper justice with mercy? Even the body guard was showing sympathy but not him the governor, the lord of fife. My major disgust is that it is still the same Adams Oshimole that claims to be the champion of the people. Some try to rationalize it that he was acting like a typical Nigerian that treats his gateman the same way. My dear, I know this is not how I treat my subordinates and I know thousands of Nigerians that wouldnt treat those below them that way. It just shows the general disregard our leaders have for the common man. What the statement means is that if you are a common man, go and die. Can the governor justify that he can say that to the wife of any politician in Edo if she was found acting contrary to the law? Though Oshimole has apologized but I dont think if he would have done that if the video never went viral. He apologized but the mentality hasnt changed and that is where the hope for the common man is bleak.
