I recently wrote an article explaining why I dont support policing as an institution here in the U.S. - in a nutshell because police really dont spend much time protecting and serving anymore. but primarily enforce edicts of the state that infringe on liberty and property. Several people took me to task, arguing that I shouldnt blame the cops. After all, they dont make the laws. Heres the problem: institutionally, police support the laws they enforce.
