I remember this March was around January/February 1992 and it was at a time when the BBC and worlds mainstream media picked up on the story of the March to Chakhoti to break the Ceasefire Line (LOC). Sadly, the Pakistani army intervened by shooting and killing marchers with Pakistani bullets to stop Kashmiris from getting killed by Indian bullets. Renowned writer on Kashmir: Victoria Schofield said: “that there might one day be a Kashmir Checkpoint Chakothi like there was a Checkpoint Charlie during the Cold War” This is an interesting concept which is like taking a step backward to move forward and ironically the Iron Curtain (Berlin Wall) was torn down in 1989. https://youtube/watch?v=KEYeWDHqGCo
