I saw an article in our local newspaper yesterday about a group of people in Newnan, GA, who were assigned roles as members of a low income family and had to use play money in trying to make ends meet for a month. The program was sponsored by the University of Georgia and the Meriwether County Chamber of Commerce. Wouldnt it be great if ALL Congressmen and women could participate in such a program? No aides, no assistants, no golf, just trying to pay the bills and handle everyday problems. Finding a job, daycare, etc. These people had to find their way to agencies for help and contend with all the problems of life. I think it would make a big difference in how Congress views those in need.
