I saw my daughter, her mother and her grandmom in a field. My daughter was crying. It was filled with bushes and it was difficult to get to her. I was able to rescue her. And then I saw her eating celery, beef and tomatoes from a bowl. She was eating a piece of each selecting one at a time. The beef ran out but there was beef nearby in another bowl. But by now i knew this was a dream and i couldnt do anything about it. I was heartbroken. Because she was so young. I woke up. I was in tears. This is the condition we are supposed to serve the nation. Some of the powerful believe that every man who works in our line of work are inherently disloyal and has to sever us from our families and banish us to a foriegn island for that reason alone. Unless that man works in Male. Remember, banishment had been a criminal sentence in the Maldives, and other parts of the world. We are suffering on this fallacy of a powerful few alone. This opinion is so strongly held that it is believed even by the sufferers, inspite of other considerable inequality and injustice we are treated with. Noting that we are the guys who are supposed to bring balance and be just in our actions. But the belief itself is telling of our naivety and narrow thinking. There is this reason, if not all the reasons why Maldives is one of the 25 most miserable countries to live in and has the 7th most criminal records in the World. Scoring even higher than Somalia and Pakistan. I just felt that I must share this.
