I sent this letter to the amelia island blues festival to ask if i could play eh figured it was worth a shot Hello my name is nicholas andrew solomon, i am 20 years of age and an avid blues musician. I havent been able to make it ever to see the festival myself but one way or the other i am going to get there this year. My question to you is ,is there any way i could play with a band. I play blues harp, and a dream of mine is to play one day on a stage like that with people like that who understand the meaning of the blues. Not just the bb kings, or the stevie ray vaughans of it all, but the feeling. The rush you get when you look into the crowd and you play your song, or maybe someone elses, and you move someone. The energy in the air at any blues concert is way more intense to that of any heavy metal concert im sure. Now what gives me any right to know any thing bout it some have asked. The blues in it self belongs to everyone , but its more associated with the down an out, the unlucky you might say. Ove been there still there in some senses but im tryin to make my way up the ladder, not just for me but for my family, my wife and daughter. She may grow up in a world where this music is long gone, but i want her to have a feeling for her roots, for my music, an even my heritage in a way. So im here and im on a whim with this letter. Asking, an imploring you to give me a shot. I dont want to be some over night success story. Thats not what i want. I just want to play for two days with some great musical legends. Sincerely nicholas andrew solomon
