I spent the day out at my in-laws, the Lewis. Its always wonderful to see Tom and Estelle! Im glad to say that Estelle is on the road to recovery from a recent bad cold. While there sharing a meal, we looked through many old family photos, and she shared a lot of family stories. I had no clue of the deep musical heritage her family has on her mothers side. She had one Uncle who formed a group in 1950s California named the Golden State Boys (bluegrass), and his son, Tony, has went on to become a famous picker, playing with all the best players from Doc Watson to Alison Krauss to Ricky Skaggs, even Jerry Garcia, among many others. Hes a Grammy award winner, and last year was inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame. Hes a humble man with amazing talent...
