I thought about not posting this because I didnt want to make you all sad, but if it helps then I am glad I did. I heard this song the other day on the Fish by Mark Schultz & he expanded on it by saying that the reason he wrote it was for his wife after her father passed... He says his father in law was a great man that really lit up everyones holidays. It was so hard to get through that first Christmas trying to make everything exactly the same as it was when he was there, they tried not to mention him so that nobody would remember or hurt from his memory. After a couple years of this not easing their pain, they decided this would be a different kind of Christmas, and made him a memory jar. Instead of hiding his legacy, every time someone thought of him, they would write down that memory and put it in the jar. Then on Christmas they would open up the jar and tell stories into the night.
