I thought some listeners might be interested to know what is and is not allowed by Broadcastify (AKA Radioreference) to be broadcast by scanner audio feed providers like me. We are under some specific rules of conduct and can have our broadcast privileges revoked for not following the guidelines. There are over 3,500 such feeds supported through Broadcastify across the United States. Here are some of the guidelines I must follow: (from Feed Provider Terms of Service at wiki.radioreference/index...rms_of_Service) Feed Providers are not allowed to broadcast: * SWAT "type" operations if on dedicated channels [other than normal ongoing radio traffic] * Narcotics / CID / Investigations or other tactical operations [ditto] * Dedicated channels or talkgroups for Ambulance [and air ambulance] to Hospital Communications * Dedicated Federal Government or Military Communications (exceptions include any fire fighting operations, space shuttle communications, park ranger operations) [BRA lake rangers are on sheriff channel] * Any commercial service broadcast (FM/AM/TV etc) * Music or talk show of any kind (commercial or non-commercial) * DJ or other type of similar activity (commercial or non-commercial) * Open Microphones There are a number of Hood County frequencies that I do not include in my scanner audio feed because of the above rules. Additionally, FYI, I have informed the Hood County Sheriff that any time there arises a situation in which the safety of law enforcement, Fire/EMS personnel, or citizens could be compromised by the feed, I will take it off the air immediately upon his request. Note that there are also a few fire channels (such as indivudual FVD departments) which could be included in the feed but are not. The reason that these are missing is that they happen to be commonly used frequencies by other nearby cities or state-wide shared fire channels. My scanners receive these and they would be distracting/confusing since they are non-Hood-County traffic. Occasionally, when there is a large ongoing fire operation such as a major wildfire and one of the state fire channels is in use I will temporarily include those in the broadcast so citizens can hear the latest activity of the firefighters. So, there you have it. Hope this was helpful to some.
