I use myself as an example because I feel that the majority of the randomly selected are quilty of this action. Its about 2AM and its been a long night of homework. I take a drive around the corner to a SEVEN ELEVEN in hopes to get firing on all cylinders again with some highly caffinated brew. As I walk in I find a tall dark skinned man patiently arranging colorful packages on a shelf with great care. Upon his head a cultural fashion statement that I have yet to understand to this day but have never had a problem with. He wore normal clothes; plaid button up and dull gray jeans, his beard long and grey with streams of vanilla flowing through it. As I walked in something strange slipped out of my mouth, colffee? I must have said in an ugly imitated middle eastern accent that I referenced from sine movie. Why did I assume the need to place myself on any certain level in order to communicate with man? Why did I assume his illiteracy all the while he may have been laughing in his head talking mad shut in perfect English tongue about the stupid American kid who came into his store. Why do we stereotype? Why did it come so naturally without any thought? I didnt mean too and this is why I am so bothered.
