I voted for H.Res. 574, which holds Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress for her refusal to testify about her role in IRS targeting of conservative groups. I also voted for H.Res. 565, which calls on Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate the IRS’s targeting of conservative nonprofit advocacy groups. I am not celebrating about taking these votes. It is a sad day for our country when a federal official needs to be compelled to do what is in the countrys best interest. This is a serious situation that has to be dealt with.
