I walked into my office this morning and my guys had some TV on in - TopicsExpress

I walked into my office this morning and my guys had some TV on in the background; MTV2 or something of the sort. The posted video below is what was showing on the channel - I invite you to watch. Not only does this video glorify general lawlessness but, it embraces the idea that bettering yourself through illegal actions is an accepted status quo. Aired by a network that is one of the central resources of much of the pop culture phenomenon dictated to our youth today, a continuation of this can only lead to a rocky future for the world in general. I understand that we live in a free-market capitalist economy and simply put money talks but, in my opinion sometimes a sense of duty to society should overcome the almighty dollar (aimed at artists/directors/industry that purports the kind of degeneracy in this video). I am not saying that at times in my life I havent been a dirtbag myself (those who know me understand quite the contrary); what I am saying is if we do not engage in a systemic overhaul of our society as it sits currently, we will continue a downward spiral. What I would like to see is the return of ideals, morals and work ethic of the Great Generation-my generations grandparents. The idea that you should work hard, put your time in and get what you deserve is almost lost on our immediate gratification society. I enjoy being surrounded by individuals that exude those revered qualities and credit much of my personal development to them. I ask everyone to do their part to help our society by guiding anyone that will take heed in the ways of this outgoing generation. I would also like to thank a few of the individuals that have taught and mentored me along the way.
