I want to applaud the president for bringing to light something that is very important to the economic development of rural America, high speed internet- In fact it was the second talking point in my rough draft economic plan for Amador County, as reads below.... 2. High Speed Internet access- high speed internet in 2015 could be considered a right, as a lack of access to it can keep people from realizing their potential in the idea and information economy. Towns like Drytown, right on a major highway corridor, still do not have access to a reliable internet access. In 2015, this is simply untenable. Whenever possible, the county will do whatever is in its power to encourage the development of communications infrastructure, whether this means lobbying telecommunications companies, granting easements through its land and right of ways for new infrastructure, or seeking grants for the rural development of new hight speed internet lines.
