I want to thank my many family and friends that invited me to tonights events. I appreciate that so many people know where my heart is. I went to college in order to get an occupational degree in Human Specialties...I wanted to be the best of the best at what I do. However, the Community needs to remember that the people that need our services most may not have a squeaky clean past. All services need to be available to all people, no matter the circumstance. This is how people fall thru the cracks of our system. Lets blame a few for the ignorance or silence of many.. One of my mentors described our profession as this... I have coffee with people and talk.....what HAPPENED TO THAT? So we have another tragic event in our community! Maybe an open door, free of judgment, some talking, a hug and some coffee may have helped. We will ever know now.But, I have had the privilege of doing just that for many years of my life. I thank God for that time.
