I was able to listen to the broadcast. Mr. Gary Fife asked good questions, the same for each candidate. They were asked about Freedom of the Press; Financial Reporting ethics; Accountability, Working with other branches; Creek citizens residing outside tribal boundaries;Economic Development (big projects);among other subjects. My take: Hicks seems to be very concerned about citizens loss of confidence in MCN government and what he could do to help them gain it back & the importance of rural citizens being treated the same as everyone else. Ellis stressed accountability, financial ethics & also to gain back citizens confidence in our tribal government. (I just picked out the subjects that tweaked my own interest, but all in all, they both did fairly well.) Both were asked why should we vote for you? Hicks: About experience, you need to do the job to get experience. Stated his 1st job at MCN not about money but wanted to learn about MCN & he did learn a lot. Ellis: Have been chosen many times before & have experience; had to do some unpopular things & made enemies/friends, but will do his best.
