I was finally able to gift Mr. Von Behren his log. He was supposed to receive this gift a couple of days before Christmas, but, couldnt, due to needing a blood transfusion that day. As many of you know, the little lady who I was going to give a log to at Christmas, received her log, and also made a contribution to making this gift, as well as my dear friend Mr. Bob Bolin! None of us knew Mr. Von Behren, nor he either of us. My heart bleeds for anyone who has to deal with this awful disease, and the families whose loved one is forced to fight it with them. I know its a lot of miles on their cars for numerous dr. appointments, and the fears that race thru their minds. Cancer is not prejudice on who it attacks, nor does it discriminate on age. Thank you to Rhonda Humphres, Shalyn Thompson, Bob Bolin, Rose Parks, for making this young man to get his mind off of his troubles, even if it was for just a few moments! The joy it gave my heart to be able to share my gift from God, and the joy he felt when I told him the story what led to his getting this log, and the look in his eyes, when he 1st laid eyes on it, could never be purchased at any store, nor could those moments of joy ever be stripped away. Please, take a moment and lift this young family up in prayer. Ask that God show them mercy, and give them strength, as they confront this battle once again! Now I must go dob the corners of my eyes...
