I was just talking to my daughter and I never realized how much being in a band has cost me so much happiness in my life. My son is 22 and I think Ive spent 10 years of his life with him. It has cost me numerous relationships and the woman I loved more than anything. To hear my daughter say Daddy I wish you were never in a band is the most hurtful thing Ive ever heard. But my excuse has always been This is what I do really? Ive sacrificed my happiness, my family, my life on a dream. Ive left people by the wayside just to hear the cheers and screams of people I dont know, Ive never met. While I have kids who want their daddy, a woman who wants me to love her but I choose to bath in glory of strangers, faceless people who love me because of my music not because of me, the real me. Like Elton John said… You married a music man
