I was laying in bed last night thinking to myself, in a daze, totally zoned out.. Reliving what happened to me when I was 17 years old. I looked at the scar on my leg and remembered every single detail. Ill never forget rolling in that van and smashing that telephone pole, the electrical wired wrapped up in the van, my leg stuck in the engine and bleeding to death. Helpless, counting down the minutes till I passed.. I was stuck for over 3 hours and then heard the jaws of life. I remember the helicopter ride and screaming voices and panicking. Waking up to bright lights thinking I was dead. After 2 weeks of surgeries and keeping my leg from being amputated I was so relieved. But then Ill never forget these words Chris you will never walk again and youll remain in a wheelchair, but we were able to keep your leg I was grateful to just be alive. I remember trying to stand up in the hospital and it just wasnt happening. At the time I knew that was it for me physically.. I succumbed to it but one day I couldnt take it anymore and I forced myself out of that wheelchair and became my own physical therapist. I tried harder every single day until I was able to walk with a limp.. I didnt stop pushing. I never gave up and I believed that Id prove everyone wrong. I wanted it so bad.. Ill never forget the first time I ran, I cried. It felt like I was flying and the world was non existent.. Now Im doing all this crazy shit and it blows my mind every time I think about it. Im so grateful to be alive, be a personal trainer using my knowledge and past to inspire people. Grateful to be stronger than ever and able to do anything I set my mind to. Its amazing what the body is capable of your heart and mind refuse to quit.. I cant believe where I am now from where I started.. Ill forever be grateful, I was always surrounded by negativity and now Im surrounded by nothing but people that believe in me.. Life is so precious #BarConstrictorZz #Grateful
