I was nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by my great friend and Workout Buddy Laura Orenchuk and Im happy to participate but with a couple of big twists! ALS is indeed a terrible disease, however, currently in Canada approximately 3000 people suffer with it. Statisitics Canada lists 72,476 deaths caused by Malignant neoplasms - cancer, 47,627 deaths from heart disease, and 13,283 deaths from Stroke for the year 2011. So my challenge was for all those considering the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, or any donation to health research to make a difference for us all, think about donating to the Canadian Cancer Society cancer.ca/ and/or the Heart & Stroke Foundation heartandstroke.ca/. After Kenny McLeod dumped ice water on me (he really didnt want to;) and Lianne Corson McLeod recorded it for me, I came in and donated to all three ALS, Canadian Cancer Society, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation - and my challenge is for all of you to consider doing the same so that we can find a cure for all three of these terrible diseases! We had fun.... Enjoy the video;)
