I was on a hot date last night when suddenly I heard a womans beautiful laugh coming from the other side of the room. It was only after I turned and looked in her direction that I realized there was a group of four or five people standing there speaking in sign language. Her laugh was so genuine and beautiful and for a moment it saddened me to know that the people she was with probably couldnt hear what I was hearing. My thoughts thereafter were much different. I realized how blessed they are to have each others undevided attention. They were friends all laughing together and engaged by each others presence without a phone in sight. If they were all frequently looking to their phones, they would easily miss important information being expressed and then the vibe of the group as a whole would be significantly diminished. We have this incredible ability to communicate with and engage one another face to face and more and more frequently, we are choosing not to utilize it. Although those folks last night could not hear each other, they were certainly enjoying fantastic conversations...
