I was up early this morning, ready to spend time on the porch with my coffee and a little quiet time, before the world came to life. Coffee, Cathy, the birds and quiet time. Instead of birds, I heard a PA system, cranking out announcements and music! the noise was driving the dogs crazy! Yet another road race or fun run, leaving North Hills, snaking through the neighborhoods, no doubt! How I WISH that the folks who organize these runs, which are undoubtedly for a good cause, could at least post a flyer, or contact a neighborhood rep to pass the word along, so that residents would not be blindsided by these activities. It would be nice to know, that our streets might be closed or traffic rerouted ahead of time, so that we might make alternative plans. If anyone reading this agrees, please join me in asking the Raleigh City Council members to require those asking for permits for special events, to please NOTIFY neighborhoods that might be impacted. I support these events whole-heartedly, but think that it is just being a good neighbor, and using good manners, to alert others of the plan. OK! I am now officially off my soapbox. Cheers to the beautiful day ahead, and all that it holds! Now I just hope I can get out of the neighborhood. . . Maybe through the back entrance! ;-)
