I was watching a program last night about Chicagos best street foods. The program went in to a place in #Pilsen (a Mexican neighborhood) called Dia de Los Tamales (a take on the traditional Mexican Holiday Dia de los Muertos). Talk about culture vultures!!! Every person they showed in this establishment was caucasian!!!! WTH!!! So Rick Bayless is the face of Mexican cuisine and white people are the masters of tamales now??? None of the patrons were other than white people either. Anyone can make good food- but the best tamales Ive ever had I bought right on 18th street in Pilsen from a middle aged Mexican man right off the L stop on 18th. STOP allowing others to appropriate what is ours! WHITE people coming in to take over your neighborhood and make it safe for others of their kind to come in is not success! How long will it take us to learn that they are not your friend or Brother. They will use you in your fear and false love of them to get in the door - and then push you out and close it behind you...and give you well deserved kick in the back side to take along with the 30 pieces of sliver they gave you to be their lackey. Say no to selling out!
