I was wondering and waiting for this to happen.... 6 days into my blogging journey and I receive my first negative comment. Im alright with it... I will stay professional and calm and I will keep voicing my truth for the lifestyle I live. I am a caring, loving, dedicated and hardworking dairy farmer and nothing will put me down. Youll get nothing but the Gods honest truth from me and nothing but the first hand experience. 2% of the world is directly involved with agriculture and 2% are against us farmers. .. now wheres the other 96% of the world? They are the ones that I will help understand the truth about our family farms. They are the ones who want to learn but us farmers need to reach out because they arent sure how to approach us. They are willing to learn and help share our stories and help share the truth. And thats why I am here to be one of that 2% who helps that 96% understand and learn about what we do. I had a gentleman post a link to a picture on my blog and this is how I responded to him... Cows produce too much milk at a time for the calf to consume if we dont help empty her udder each day the cow could get very sick and the milk would be no good for the calf and the cow would not be able to last a long healthy life. Our calves still receive the mothers milk for weeks after she/he is born via a bottle because the calf s stomach is too small to hold the amount of milk its mother produces. Beef cows mammary system is different than that of a milk cow and they produce a lot less milk therefore are able to stay healthy while the calf is still nursing off its. The beef cow compared to a milking cow have different genetics then one another allowing the dairy cow to produce many pounds more. We do not mistreat our animals we care for them with much love. They are our friends and lively hood. Female calves are the future of our farm and male cows are the future for reproduction and to feed the world. Everything that is put on this earth has a purpose or God would not have put them here. Im from Philadelphia and knew nothing about agriculture until I opened myself up to farms and experienced and learned what these farmers do. I am proud to say this city girl right here is now a dairy farmer. And these cows are my everything I love them unconditionally and would never do anything to hurt them. Please follow my blog, The Barn Window, to learn the truth and see first hand.
