I watch and love a TV series titled Once Upon a Time. As a child I would always wonder about fairy tales and riddles. I always felt like there had to be more to the story. For instance, I couldnt understand why the hell Humpty Dumpty being an egg and all would sit up on a wall. Didnt he know that if he fell, he would have a great fall? Goldie Locks, to this day I dont understand why she thought it was alright to walk up in some strangers house, eat their food, sit in their furniture, then she had the nerve to lay down to take a damn nap. Hadnt she ever heard the phrase eat and run? At least if you have the audacity to break and enter someones home, eat and hurry the hell on up out of there. And Jack and Jill, what the hell is the moral of that story? Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pale of water, Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after. What? Was he a king or something, and if he was, why was he fetching his own water? or does breaking his crown mean he busted his damn head? Why did he fall, did he trip? Or did he get jacked at the top of the hill by some commoners who pushed him down. I am serious, I used to ponder this stuff when I was a kid. Why did Jill come tumbling after, was she following him? If thats the case she should have tumbled first not after, and if she was ahead of him why did she tumble, when she saw him falling did she think he was playing and decided to fall down the hill as well? Damn, did they ever get any water? Yeah, I know, why would a child be thinking all this? Hell, I dont know, but this story sounds like a bunch of the foolishness that the media feeds us and has the audacity to call news, more like conspiracy theory. Oh but I have to give a shout out to my boy, the Itsy Bitsy Spider! I always loved him and his story was about the only one that made since to me, they even made a song about it. Want to hear it, here it goes the Itsy Bitsy Spider climbed up the water spout, down came the rain and washed the spider out, out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider climbed up the spout again. Hallelujah, Itsy Bitsy never gave up. Man he was so little they called him Itsy Bitsy, can you imagine how heavy that rain must have felt to him and how he must have been drowning in despair, but he didnt give up. He waited for the sun to come out to dry up all the rain and he wasnt afraid to climb the spout again. What hope, what strength , what courage, what triumph! What will you do when the rain storms of life try to wash you out? Will you have faith and wait on the Son to dry up all your rain, and will you then be of good courage and try to climb to the top again? Anyway, as I was saying, I love Once Upon a Time. It has taken these fairy tale characters and given meaning to the genres that they have found themselves a part of. It has given them a history and has made their characters appear human like us and has also taken us into the spiritual aspects of a being to show us that there is more to life than the physical realm we currently see. It appeals to us that we exist in more than realm at a time and if we are able to engage our spiritual selves we can survive in one world system and be more than a conquer, while maintaining our status and kings, queens, priests in another. The show is so creative, now that I think about my childhood, I dont know why I did not come up with the idea myself. I think the writers are phenomenal and the show just has so many spiritual undertones it is absolutely invigorating. I look forward to watching every week. The show inspires, it imparts some spiritual truths and it allows you at some point to see the good that God has placed in all of us and how when we allow a bitter root to grow it can choke out all that goodness. There was a truth imparted last episode and it was that there is happy ending intended for everyone, but discovering how to get to it is what poses the biggest problem. I submit to you that we discover the road to happiness through the Good News, the Holy Scriptures, by understanding and adhering to it. Scripture talks more about how one should live to establish peace and a good life while living here on earth than it does about how to be saved from eternal damnation. Ive said enough. I dont even know how I ended up talking about this, the only reason I am up on facebook at this hour is because my niece woke me up because she peed in the bed, then as I was about to lay back down I realized that I forgot to pay one of my bills that was due yesterday and I decided to pay it online to try and avoid a late fee. Good night or should I say good morning. Whatever, Im going back to bed.
