I will be reading today at NOHO UNBUCKLED a nice little venue in NOHO generously hosted by Radomir Vojtech Luza & Mary Mann Dear Friends: As the sky and sand of our better natures flail into Autumn, the gray leaves and barren trees belie the peace and tranquility in the air. This is my favorite time of the year. My life has often changed during its angles and oxymorons. I got my first job out of college during this time. I moved to New York City for the first time in Autumn, and moved to Los Angeles for the first time eight years ago while the grass was orange. In the Fall, silence is more certain, tears are salty and the oceans sparkle with stardust. It is with this spirit and knowledge that you are invited to UNBUCKLED: No Ho POETRY, the longest running literary series in North Hollywood, with Featured Poet/Performer Apryl Skies on Saturday, November 1st from 3:45pm-5:45pm at T.U. Studios in North Hollywood. UNBUCKLED: No Ho POETRY takes place at T.U. Studos at 10942 Camarillo Street (Behind Odyssey VIdeo) (Off Vineland) at the intersection of Lankershim, Vineland and Camarillo in North Hollywood. FIRST SATURDAYS FREE Apryl Skies: If there is a poet who understands poetry and the depth of feeling, imagination and commitment it requires, it is this dynamo of wind and water. Skies does not stray from the difficulty of syllable and syntax, rhythm and rhyme. Instead, her falling stars and Whiskey Blue Sways point you to another world where love matters and beauty is the elixir. Skies is an accomplished wordsmith with three Pushcart Prize nominations to her name and a publishing house (Edgar and Leonores) which has published poetry books and anthologies containing some of the brightest lights on the Los Angeles poetry scene. She also writes about poetry for the Examiner newspaper chain. All in all, Apryl is a beautiful spirit and person who is one of the foremost supporters of the written and spoken word .in the city. She brings a grace and dignity to the proceedings like few others. UNBUCKLED is thrilled and proud to present her as this months featured Poet/Performer.
