"I wish to appeal to all our Churches to reach out to our communities and invite deaf people to participate in the gospel and life of the Church. The Church is a place to belong, a place to find acceptance and a place to find healing. The Church is a place where people of every age are welcome and have a voice, where women and men, young and old, play key roles in leadership and service. It is a place for people of all socioeconomic status with all kind of abilities. It is a place where all people can discover their potential and share gifts." A call made by Rev. Samuel Kathia, Bishop, Nairobi Synod, Methodist Church in Kenya during the Official opening ceremony of the third Global Methodist Missions Conference of the Deaf. The theme of the Conference is "The right time is now, change and believe the good news" Mark 1:15. The Conference started on 6th August and will end on 9th August. The venue is the Methodist Guest House and Conference Centre, Nairobi.
