I witnessed the most appalling display of poor sportsmanship, dangerously dirty cheap shots, and poor on field behavior that only served to disgrace the game of football......And..... It was an 8th grade football game. This particular school has the reputation of playing dirty - both on the middle and high school levels. Yes they are a well funded, large team - they have a surplus of players when their opponents are struggling to find players - so therefore they usually win. Their predictable argument that other schools are jealous of their ability to dominate competitions is trite and unoriginal. Their sports programs and the aggressive, questionable play that is encouraged is an embarrassment to the Ft. Zumwalt School District. Sadly - their dirty play and pompous attitude only makes them look like losers, and thats unfortunate for the few players on their team that play the game with true skill and class. The coaches son was the dirtiest and was ejected from the game.....the coaches son. The team obviously has heard the message the coach is sending. Im so thankful for the men of integrity that volunteer their time and mentor our young men to play hard without compromising the integrity of the game. Our young men are winners for that.
