I woke up this morning with a huge buzz. There were some really amazing performances at ONE Fighting Championship last night that really blew me away. While I know that Shinya Aoki had one of the best training camps of his entire career in the last 2 months, I did not expect him to destroy his tough opponent so completely in less than 2 minutes. His game has really improved so much in all areas of MMA in the last few years. It has been so awesome to watch Shinya learn, grow, and evolve as a martial artist under the rest of our World Champions, teammates, and coaches at Evolve MMA. I was also highly impressed with RogerHuerta and James Mcsweeney. They showed some very high level technical prowess with serious killer instinct. They dismantled their opponents with incredible surgical precision. I see a very bright future for both of them in MMA. My bro Ben Askren was a huge MONSTER as usual. I was expecting him to beat his opponent, but I did not expect it to be so vicious, quick, and flawless. I wont share all of the stuff that happens in training, but all I can say is that Ben is 100x better than you think he is. It is one thing to see him in action on TV. It is another thing to know what happens behind closed doors in training. We get tons of the best UFC, ONE FC, and Bellator fighters every month who come to Evolve to train. Without a doubt, I know that Ben would destroy the current UFC Champion. Ann Osman also delivered a crazy performance. She has a true warriors heart and fighting spirit, coupled with excellent athleticism and strength. We are all blessed to have her as one of the faces and role models of Asian MMA. Lastly, I am biased towards my Thai brother, but I absolutely love Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichok and his killer style of fighting. When I started Evolve MMA a few years ago, I never imagined that I would ever see a multiple-time Lumpinee Muay Thai World Champion use a rear naked choke to finish a fight. It is another reminder to all of us that our evolution as martial artists is never complete. We can and should always strive always to learn, grow, and evolve. CONGRATULATIONS to every fighter who competed in Dubai! Win or lose, you deserve all of the respect in the world for putting your hearts and souls in that cage for the world to see. RESPECT!!!
