I would like to know what the candidates are going to do about getting the Greater Sudbury area to go greener? We have a recycling program that could be improved to help reduce the amount of recyclable materials from going to the landfill as well as a transit service that is inadequate for the people who live in the outlying areas of Sudbury( Val Caron, Hanmer, etc) Currently if you live above or below Hwy 69 N you are waiting 3 hours for the 704 bus and there is no holiday or Sunday service available. The transit service also need to be more accessible earlier in the mornings. The workers that are in the mines should have to choice of taking public transit to work and currently with the existing scheduled this is not an option. As we expand into larger communities these are significant issues that need to be addressed before major expansion takes place.
