I would like to share a little good news with everyone totally - TopicsExpress

I would like to share a little good news with everyone totally unrelated to the switch. Our neighbor, Charlie Warner, was hit by a car while riding his bicycle on August 13 of last summer. He was training for the Dalmac. Charlie has been in the hospital and in rehab ever since. He is currently in a wheelchair and may or may not walk again. The good news, he finally came home on Friday! 7 1/2 months after he embarked on a couple hour bike ride. His family is so grateful to have him home. They could use continued prayers as he continues to heal, they learn and adjust to new routines and as they wait for insurance approval to modify their home to better accommodate his new needs. Charlie is a retired chemistry/physics teacher, he taught in Ionia for many years. His son David was on the Holt swim team for years and Charlie was and continued to be an avid supporter. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they embark on a new phase of their lives. From his wife Pam: Charlie is home. He was discharged Friday. It was REALLY hectic that day, but we made it. Charlie has two aides and/or nurses 24/7. Thats been a difficult thing to get used to. While it is nice to have the help, there is no privacy. Our dog Bella barks excessively at shift changes or sometimes just because there are strangers in the house! Any suggestions on how to get a dog to stop barking would be appreciated! It will probably take us a couple of weeks to get a good routine down, and to get to know the aides better. But it sure feels good to be home together!
