I would like to take a moment to share my experience with Robert of Transbuilderguy Transmissions I was going through a divorce and the transmission in my car went out. For an entire year I was forced to let the car sit due to legal fees and an all around lack of funds to get the car back up and running. I reached out in the Florida section of LS1Tech to see if anyone could help me out. I met Robert (predator T/A) and he offered to help me out and offered a full rebuild in exchange for a firearm (which helped me out greatly as I lacked the cash for the repair). I pulled the trans and drove 2 hours to Jacksonville (where he lived at the time). In 15 minutes Robert had the trans apart and showed me what broke and why (broken input drum because my tuner tuned the car to lock the converter between shifts + transgo shift kit on hard setting = trans death). I owe many thanks to Robert, he helped me out in a very big way! He also gave me the necessary fluids and a battery to get my car back on the road because it had been sitting for a year, as well as an additional supply of maintenance items to maintain my car for the rest of the year. He even called me up a year later and offered to sell me back the firearm because he knew I didnt want to part with it to begin with. The transmission he built for me has been flawless in my 12.2 @112 mph, 2000 Trans Am. I have driven the hell out of it and put 14,000 miles on it so far and the transmission has not missed a beat with a FTI 3800 stall converter. I would recommend his services to anyone needing transmission work done--whether it be a stock rebuild or a performance rebuild.
