I would like to take a moment to think about, commend and congratulate the 1 million Jewish refugees who in 1947 were kicked out or forced out of their Arab homelands (Egypt, Syria Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Yemen...) having their lands, businesses and possessions taken away from them and with no country to call their own. But they were resilient, positive and had a strong willingness to live, build and grow. Some assimilated to various countries, contributing their skills, talents and ideas to their new home countries. Others came to an undeveloped Israel and helped build infrastructure, farmed the land and made the dessert bloom! Through dedication, determination, optimism and a lot of hard work, they helped Israel become the developed country it is today. I pray that the people of Gaza will follow in the footsteps of these once displaced Jewish refugees of Arab lands, fight against the terrorist organization that is inhibiting their growth as an autonomous state and brainwashing them into hate, violence and stagnation. I pray that they will shed the vale of permanent refugees status and make the most of the autonomy they have been granted in the past 9 years and the billions of dollars and aid that they have received in order to build and develop their own State and educate their children to live in peace alongside their Israeli neighbours. Amen! jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/talking/jew_refugees.html
