I would like to thank all the guitar teachers in my youth who assured me that the ONLY way I would be able to learn to play the guitar was Right Handed. Being a stubborn kid, full of p*ss and vinegar, ( and quite a bit of spite), I strung that Sears and Roebuck special up lefty and taught myself! Once I decided to teach I always remembered those limitations that were thrust upon me almost deleting the whole thing from my life all together. Now as a teacher, I realize there are NO limitations in music. I teach Lefties, Mentally challenged, Physically challenged, Young, not so young, and yes...Even the Right Handed. So thanks Narrow minded guitar teachers of the 70s who said no one can play left handed. If I had had to learn Shell Be Comin Round the Mountain, instead of teaching myself KISS songs, I probably would have quit! Hey old guys...ever heard of Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Paul McCartney, Dick Dale... Maybe it was really too challenging for the TEACHERS!
